There is a parking garage down the side alley that is $25/day and also another garage at Walmart across street. I agree that the place needs some updating and TLC, but the people that work there couldn't be nicer! That being said, one big suggestion from two senior citizens: put some non slip grips in the tubs because they are quite slippery and we had to be careful not to fall while taking a shower! Parking is nearby and not at all as expensive as the downtown hotels. He was very helpful and the room we had was on the first floor for two nights. We were very fortunate there was a room available for us. I might consider staying here again if the price is competitive and I wanted to focus all of my visit on Boys Town - as with this visit - but this is not first on my list.Ĥ.48km from Redline VR Juan checked us in early after we explained we had to be at a very important family party in the early afternoon. It was a reasonable choice since there are so few hotels in the immediate Boys Town area - I think we may try AirBnB next time we want to stay there, or suffer the short commute to areas where there are hotels. It wasn't gross, but the room definitely needed some refreshing and updating. But it also did not have the clean, neat sense that you get from newer properties, nor did it have that clean but dated look from more nostalgic properties. No bed bugs, no roaches - it's not a seedy hotel in that sense. The room was clean only in the most limited sense of the word. There was a window in each room that looked at the brick wall of the building next door, so there was limited light in the room. The furniture looked a bit worn and beaten - the small couch did not look comfortable as the cushions were crushed from lots of use. The room was spacious with a bedroom separate from a living area and the smallish bathroom off the living area. Our room was on the second floor just across from the real tiny elevator. I had booked a King suite, only that and a regular queen room had shown available and they were the same price. Walking into the hotel it appeared clean and decent with an absence of an older building re-purposed as a modern hotel.

Hubby had stayed at City Suites in the past and recommended we stay there since it is just 1 ½ blocks off North Halsted plus it's right outside the door of the Belmont CTA station (red, brown, and purple lines). This was a short overnight trip so we wanted to avoid commute times to the play area.

Our friends stayed on the 5th floor, one floor up from us. You can hear a lot of noise between rooms as there isn’t much acoustic dampening, but our neighbors were quiet once they got settled.
Other reviews note this and I know that we were not dreaming. The gym is closed until 5 am so it was odd. I mentioned it to management the next morning and it didn’t happen again. It was loud enough that I could recognize each set. Someone was really jamming and they no doubt had a good session. On our first night, we awoke at 3 am hearing the workout room below. I found myself tossing around quite a bit. The beds are very firm, too firm really to feel comfortable. In room coffee was good too and there is a small refrigerator. The rate is reasonable too, even with the $25 daily resort fee. Rooms have ample space and everything you need. While not in a tourist area, it is in a good location if you need to stop by a store to pick up something you need or forgot. It was wintertime so we didn’t use the outdoor pool, but I suspect it is fun. Bar has a sufficient choice for everyone. Both breakfast and lunch menus and food were good, healthy options.
